Big Day for ATB on Saturday with 8 runners at Caulfield, Casterton & Darwin
Australian Throughbred Bloodstock’s Darren & Liz Dance are in for a big day tomorrow with eight ATB runners engaged at three meetings across two states on Saturday 14th July 2012, with 4 runners at Caulfield, two at Casterton, and another two running up in Darwin.
The Dances will be at Caulfield tomorrow to see stable stars Rue Maple & Platelet clash for the first time against each other in the listed Sir Monash Stakes. The Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) is Race 6 at Caulfield and is scheduled to start at 3.07pm.
A capacity field of 16 runners will go around in the Monash and Rue Maple has drawn poorly in barrier 15 with Brad Rawiller to ride, while Platelet will jump from gate 11 and has the services of apprentice Damian Lane.
Last year’s Bletchingly Stakes runner-up Rue Maple opened up at $13.00 at IASbet and has firmed into $11.00 in the last 24 hours. Group 3 winner Platelet has eased out to $11.00 after opening at $10.00 yesterday.
Both gallopers are fit & in form and should acquit themselves very well under the weight-for-age conditons.

Last start Warracknabeal Cup winner Shiny Buttons is engaged in Race 4 at Caulfield on Saturday in the Variety Victoria Plate (2000m) which is set to run at 1.55pm. The in form Reset gelding will jump from barrier 12 and talented jockey Dean Yendall has taken the ride.
Shiny Buttons opened up at $5.50 at IASbet and is still around the same price. He will be very hard to beat in his current vein of form.
Recent city winner Luckyi’mbarefoot will run in Race 8 at Caulfield in the Sportingbet Handicap (1400m) at 4.20pm. Glen Boss will ride the Undoubtedly 4yo and he’s drawn very nicely in barrier 4 in the last race on the card. An expected good tempo along with a suitable wet track all point to Lucky being very much in the mix when whips are cracking late.
Luckyi’mbarefoot opened up at $5.50 at IASbet and is still around that price at time of writing.

ATB also have two runners at Casterton on Saturday, Resolvere (R6 @ 3.19pm) and A City Girl (R7 @ 3.54pm), and both gallopers will appreciate a very wet track.
The more than handy Resolvere will run in the WC&AC Miller BM72 Handicap (1200m) and has drawn barrier 2 in a field of 8 runners. Apprentice rider Jackie Berriman will be aboard and her 2 kilo claim will bring his weight down to 57 kilograms, just 3 kilos over the minimum. He loves the wet and has conditions very much to suit on Saturday.
A City Girl steps out in the “ATOMIC” at Stud 0 – 58 Handicap (1200m) and will jump from gate 12, with Ms Holly McKechnie taking the ride. She is another galloper who loves the wet, the wetter the better for her.

ATB Darwin – Saturday 14th July 2012
ATB has Rock Jester (R4 @ 3.28pm AEST) and Syreon (R7 @ 5.26pm AEST) going around in Darwin on Saturday and both horses look to have excellent chances.
Rock Jester will be fitter for his last start outing and he’s entered in the Streets Icecream Handicap (1100m) and has drawn very nicely in barrier six, with Ms Vanessa Arnott taking the ride.
Our Darwin Cup hopeful Syreon is second-up in the Trans Territory Foods Chief Minister’s Cup (1600m) and will appreciate the step up in distance from his first run this campaign. Syreon will jump from barrier six and Ms Vanessa Arnott will be aboard. All these horses in Saturdays race are all on the cups campaign too so this will give us a good guide if we are on track, and knowing that we will be suited better at 2000m.
Many of Syreon’s competitors in Saturday’s race are all on the Darwin Cup campaign too so this should be a very competitive race.
